Introduction
YiKool ("Yikool", "the App", "we") is a personal wardrobe and outfit planning application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use the App. By using the App, you agree to this Policy.
Google Play and App Store builds do not require you to create an in-app account. All core wardrobe features are available without registration. Optional Premium subscriptions are purchased through Google Play Billing or Apple App Store; we do not collect your full payment card details.
1. Information We Collect
- Information you provide: clothing photos, item names, categories, season/scene tags, brand and purchase notes, body measurements, nicknames, and other wardrobe data you enter.
- Device permissions (only after you grant them): camera and photo library (to add clothing images), location (for weather-based outfit suggestions), and notifications (for reminders).
- Device and log data: device model, operating system version, app version, and crash/diagnostic logs to keep the App stable.
- Account data (optional): on some distribution channels, you may optionally register with email, phone, or nickname for membership sync. This is not required on Google Play or App Store builds.
- Purchase data: subscription status and transaction identifiers processed by Apple or Google when you buy Premium.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide wardrobe management, on-device image matting, outfit recommendations, and weather display
- Deliver Premium membership features and restore purchases via the app store
- Enable backup, restore, and local data export (JSON/ZIP)
- Send optional notifications you enable
- Improve product quality and comply with applicable law
We do not use your clothing photos for advertising or unrelated purposes.
3. On-Device Processing & Third-Party Services
- On-device matting: clothing cutout runs on your device by default. Original photos are not sent to third-party matting services.
- Weather: when you use weather features, approximate latitude/longitude is sent to our backend API (dash.yikool.com) to fetch current conditions. We do not use weather requests to build a location history profile.
- In-app purchases: payments are handled by Apple App Store or Google Play. We receive purchase receipts/status needed to unlock Premium.
- Firebase Analytics (Google): if enabled, we collect anonymized usage events (such as screen views and feature usage) to improve the App. You can turn this off anytime in Settings → Product & usage analytics. When disabled, no new analytics events are sent.
4. Storage & Security
Wardrobe and outfit data is stored locally on your device by default. You may export backups (JSON/ZIP) through the App; backup files are under your control. We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure. Please keep your device and backup files safe.
5. Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data only when:
- You give explicit consent
- Required by law, regulation, legal process, or government request
- Necessary to protect the safety of users or the public
- With service providers under confidentiality obligations (e.g., cloud infrastructure, analytics, payment platforms), limited to what is necessary to operate the App
6. Your Rights & Choices
- Edit or delete clothing items, clear local data, and manage permissions in the App
- Export or delete local backups you created
- Disable product analytics in Settings
- Cancel subscriptions in your Apple or Google account settings
- Contact us to request deletion of an optional account, if you created one
The App is not directed at children under 13. Users under 18 should use the App with parental guidance where required by local law.
7. International Users
If you use the App outside your home country, your information may be processed in jurisdictions where our service providers operate (including the United States for Google/Firebase services), subject to applicable data protection laws.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in the App or on this page. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
